Anxiety and stress
Certain times in life are challenging, and some situations, whether work stress or relationship troubles or coping with illness, can be so overbearing that it seems difficult to find a solution. Often times, an inability to cope can result in feelings of anxiety.

If ignored, stress and anxiety can lead to depression, social anxiety, lack of sleep and other problems. A psychologist can help you learn to manage stress and anxiety, by exploring the source of the problem, and offering the necessary skills to function better and prevent problems that hinder physical and mental health in your daily life.

Reasons for consultation :

  • Depression : Depression is a common disorder where people experience a loss of interest, fatigue, and often have trouble controlling their emotions. Consulting with a psychologist provides the opportunity to share and work through difficulties in a supportive environment. It offers skills and strategies to change thinking patterns and behaviors that contribute to depression.

  • Anxiety - Stress : Many circumstances in life, from pressures at work to relationship problems, can cause anxiety. This can impede on daily life and even harm physical health. A psychologist can help a person manage anxiety by finding the source of the problem, as well as the appropriate skills to overcome these high levels of tension.

  • Interpersonal relationships : Whether family, personal or work-related, all relationships have their ups and downs and can be a source of stress. A psychologist can help explore the difficulties and boost relationship satisfaction in order to allow for new growth and strength between two people.

  • Low self-esteem : Good self-esteem means self-respect and a feeling of basic goodness about oneself. Low self-esteem can mean constant self-doubt and self-criticism, social anxiety and isolation, loneliness and even shame. Psychologists work with people to identify the cause of the emotional turmoil and set goals that will enable them to feel better and help them regain self-confidence.

Other reasons for consultation :

  • Burnout
  • Separation / Divorce
  • Career and educational transitions
  • Career counselling
  • Work related problems
