Vascular Medicine Clinic - Venous insufficiency
Venous insufficiency is caused by reflux in the saphenous veins. It can be treated either surgically by saphenectomy (stripping) under general anesthesia, or by endovenous laser treatment.
The endovenous laser is an innovative, non-invasive technique. The treatment is done by introducing a laser fiber into the vein. Once the laser is activated, the heat of the laser induces the sclerosis of the vein.
The procedure is done in the physician’s office under local anesthesia and using a sterile technique. Recovery is much quicker and the results are much more aesthetic.
